Warranty

BASELINE Water Warranty

We build BASELINE systems for reliable, long-term whole-home water filtration. Every BASELINE ZERO and BASELINE ONE system is backed by our manufacturer’s warranty against defects, subject to the conditions below.

Warranty Period

Residential use

BASELINE ZERO: 24 months
BASELINE ONE: 24 months

Commercial use

BASELINE ZERO: 12 months
BASELINE ONE: 12 months

The warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered to the original purchaser.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable to another person.

What This Warranty Covers

BASELINE warrants the system against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship during the applicable warranty period.

Where a valid manufacturing defect is confirmed, BASELINE may, at its discretion and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law:

• repair the defective product or component; or
• replace the defective product or component.

Replacement Components

Where an identical replacement component is no longer available or reasonably obtainable, BASELINE may repair or replace the affected component with another component of equivalent or better function and specification.

A replacement component does not need to be identical in brand, model or appearance to the original, provided it is suitable for the system and does not materially reduce its functionality.

Filtration Media

Filtration media is a consumable component and its normal depletion, exhaustion or reduction in performance through ordinary use is not covered by this warranty.

This exclusion does not apply where the filtration media itself has a manufacturing defect.

Media life can vary depending on water quality, usage and operating conditions.

Installation Requirements

To qualify for coverage under this BASELINE warranty, the system must be correctly installed and operated in accordance with the BASELINE installation requirements.

The system must:

• be installed by a licensed plumber
• have a pressure limiting valve installed to limit inlet pressure to a maximum of 500 kPa
• be connected to a suitable drain with the drain line no smaller than the system drain outlet
• have drain pipework configured with minimal unnecessary bends or restrictions
• have the required outdoor protective cover installed where the system is installed outdoors
• be installed and used in accordance with the supplied installation and operating instructions.

Any electrical powerpoint required to power the system must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Moving the system to another property does not automatically end the warranty. However, removal and reinstallation must be carried out correctly and comply with the installation requirements above.

Care & Maintenance

The system must be reasonably maintained throughout the warranty period.

This includes:

• checking the controller for errors or warnings at least monthly
• conducting a chlorine reduction test at least quarterly
• performing general visual inspections of the system, plumbing, drainage and surrounding installation
• addressing faults, leaks, abnormal operation or warning messages within a reasonable period after they are identified.

Failure to carry out these checks does not automatically cancel the entire warranty. However, this BASELINE warranty does not cover damage or failure caused or contributed to by inadequate maintenance or failure to address an identified problem.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This BASELINE warranty does not cover failure, damage or deterioration caused or contributed to by:

• water pressure exceeding 500 kPa
• failure to install or maintain the required 500 kPa pressure limiting valve
• incorrect installation
• plumbing installation carried out by an unlicensed person
• electrical work carried out by an unlicensed person
• incorrectly sized, restricted or improperly configured drainage
• excessive or unnecessary bends or restrictions in the drain line
• outdoor installation without the required protective cover
• water hammer
• freezing
• fire, flood, storm or other external events
• power surges, unsuitable electrical supply or other external electrical damage
• misuse, abuse, neglect or accidental damage
• unauthorised modification, repair or alteration
• use of incompatible or non-approved components where this causes or contributes to the failure
• normal wear and tear
• normal depletion or exhaustion of filtration media
• failure to carry out required maintenance or inspections where that failure causes or contributes to the problem.

These exclusions relate to the BASELINE manufacturer’s warranty and do not limit any rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Labour and Installation Costs

Unless BASELINE agrees otherwise in writing, this manufacturer’s warranty covers the defective product or component only.

It does not include plumber, electrician or other third-party labour costs associated with inspection, diagnosis, removal, installation or reinstallation of a component.

BASELINE may choose to contribute to or cover labour costs on a case-by-case basis. Doing so in one instance does not create an ongoing entitlement under this manufacturer’s warranty.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Freight and Returns

Do not return a product or component without first contacting BASELINE and receiving return instructions.

Where BASELINE confirms that a product or component has a manufacturing defect covered by this warranty, BASELINE will arrange or reimburse reasonable freight costs associated with the approved return and replacement of that defective product or component.

Where inspection determines that the issue is not a manufacturing defect covered by this warranty, return freight and other associated costs may remain the responsibility of the customer, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.

Making a Warranty Claim

To make a claim, contact BASELINE Water at:

Email: support@baselinewater.com.au

Please provide, where reasonably available:

• your name and contact details
• proof of purchase
• the product model and serial number
• the delivery date

• relevant photographs or videos
• any controller error messages or codes.

BASELINE may request reasonable troubleshooting, photographs, testing information or return of the affected component to determine the cause of the problem.

Australian Consumer Law

This warranty is provided in addition to the rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law may continue beyond the warranty periods stated above.
