The BASELINE ONE Softener is a mineral regulator installed at your mains. Rather than stripping your water of calcium and magnesium, it sets how much of them stays in it.
A mixing valve on the control valve blends untreated water back into the outlet. Your plumber sets it based on your test results at install and measures at the tap. Enough mineral removed to stop scale forming on your fixtures, elements and pipework. Enough calcium and magnesium left in your water, because that’s where they belong.
27 litres of ion exchange resin, regenerated automatically with salt. No cartridges, no proprietary consumables. The cabinet holds up to 59kg of standard softener salt, available from any local hardware store.
It regenerates on volume, not on a timer. A meter counts every litre your household uses, and the system only regenerates once the resin has actually done its work. A quiet week costs you less salt. A busy one is still covered. It sizes itself to your family instead of a calendar.
Regeneration runs overnight, while no one’s using water. The system bypasses raw water to the house during the cycle, so your supply is never interrupted.
BASELINE ONE Softener comes pre-assembled with quick connect fittings and a integrated bypass valve included. The bypass isolates the softener for service while the house stays on water. It’s also an easy way to not soften your water when using large amounts of water where softening is less important such as filling a pool.
Cold water supply only. Requires a drain point and a power outlet for the low voltage transformer. Insulated weatherproof covers must be installed when installed outdoors.
Chlorine. Chlorine must be treated before making contact with ion exchange resin. Softener resin is affected by chlorine and will significantly reduce it’s lifespan and void resin warranty.
Iron. Feed water iron must not exceed 1ppm. Above this it coats the resin bed, reduces capacity, and is excluded from warranty. Test first on bore or rainwater supply.
Water quality. Not a disinfection device. Do not use on water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality unless it is disinfected before or after the unit.
| Check salt level | Monthly |
| Top up salt | As required |
| Inspect and service control valve | Annually |
| Resin bed clean | Every 6 months, only where iron is present |
Salt use varies with your water quality, the level you have set, and household usage.
Use good quality water softener salt only. Rock salt contains silt and sand that build up in the brine tank and cause faults.
